Super fun and technical information about whole foods, and how to use them in the yummiest dishes (I found my favorite home-made chicken nugget recipe in here!). Amazing superfood desserts included :D

Fermented Vegetables by Kirsten K. Shockey and Christopher Shockey: "Creative Recipes for Fermenting 64 Vegetables & Herbs in Krauts, Kimchis, Brined Pickles, Chutneys, Relishes & Pastes."

Nature's Cancer-Fighting Foods by Verne Varona: "Prevent and Reverse the Most Common Forms of Cancer Using the Proven Power of Whole Food and Self-Healing Strategies." Wow! Do I have to say much else? An easy and fascinating read that will inspire you to change your daily habits in a flash.

Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon with Mary G. Enig, Ph.D.: "The Cookbook that challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats" ...whatever that means! This book is full of traditional, yet accurate, information and recipes for optimal nutrition. There is an entire section dedicated to nutritional science, as well. A great resource for the kitchen and the mind!

Real Food: What to Eat and Why by Nina Planck: "Nina explains what to eat and why for everyone from age zero to 100. Learn why traditional foods such as butter are best and industrial foods such as corn oil and fake foods are the real culprits in the trio of nutrition-related diseases: obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Praise the lard. And the vegetables, too." Science-based and the best reasons and ways to enjoy your butter, whole milk, and wine!

Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods by Sandor Ellix Katz: Veggies, krauts, pickles, AND beers, kombuchas, even sodas, and champagnes! Get healthy with a broad spectrum of cultures with homemade ferments...don't give up on your first try, it's worth the work :)

Mind Over Matter

Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration by Penney Peirce: A guide for bringing awareness to the self and having more control of your feelings and intuitions. Included are many meditative and energy practices that can ultimately be used to bring more peace and clarity into your daily life.

The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot: First published in 1992, I still find this book to be groundbreaking and thoroughly enlightening

Meditation: An In-Depth Guide by Ian Gawler & Paul Bedson: If you're considering the good habit, already engaging in the practice, or are just curious to learn more about the various forms and benefits of meditation, this book will quench your thirst for knowing more. Not only that, but it is chock-full of transcripts you can use to begin or enhance your practice.

The Textbook of Naturopathic Integrative Oncology by Dr. Jody E. Noe: Alas, how could I not recommend my colleague, teacher, and friend Dr. Jody E. Noe's brilliant textbook about the science of her common oncological protocols?! Here is the foundation and continuous supplementation of my Oncology training. "This textbook is designed to teach medical college and health science students fundamental cancer cell biology and inflammatory pathway biochemistry in preparation for managing patients with various forms of cancer, integratively. While several texts have been written on integrative medical practice in general, this is the first book to focus exclusively on naturopathic integrative cancer treatment."

Vaccinations: A Thoughtful Parent's Guide by Aviva Jill Romm, Herbalist, Midwife, and current MD: A beautifully written discussion on the vaccine controversy, how to analyze and navigate through research, as well as politics of vaccinations. She makes many brilliant suggestions for natural alternatives, including homeopathic and herbal recommendations for common childhood diseases.

The Vaccine Book by Dr. Robert W. Sears, MD, FAAP: "Make the Right Decision for your Child." Learn the facts, pros, and cons of each disease and vaccination, as well as the general recommended and possible alternative vaccination schedules for our little ones.
